Metro vs Tello Coverage Map
The map compares native (non-roaming) Metro and Tello coverage throughout the United States.
Map Usage
- Zoom close for the most detailed coverage data
- Use the search bar to compare Metro and Tello in a specific location
- Make different coverage comparisons by switching view modes
- Overlay: Shows distinct coverage areas of each carrier
- Winner: Colors each area by which carrier has better signal or better percent coverage
- Difference: Uses color intensity to show the magnitude of signal or coverage differences
Technical Notes

Real-world relevance: When comparing Metro and Tello signal strength,
the map's difference view uses predicted RSRP values but colors hexagons based on expected real-world impact. A difference between -125 dBm
and -100 dBm (poor vs. fair) has greater visual impact than a difference between -90 dBm and -65 dBm (excellent vs. especially excellent).

Metrics with high zoom: Zoom in for the most detailed picture. At the highest zoom levels (smallest hexagons),
the Winner and Difference views show signal strength comparisons between Metro and Tello.

Metrics with low zoom: When zoomed out (larger hexagons), comparisons are generally based on
coverage percentage within each hex. Signal strength is only compared when both Metro and
Tello have 100% coverage of a hex. ⓘ
Data Sourcing
Cell coverage data for Metro and Tello comes primarily from the May 2026 release of the FCC's Broadband Data Collection program (representing networks as of December 2025), supplemented with real-world measurements from large crowdsourcing projects.
