Availability of fixed wireless internet, regardless of provider, is shown in the map. Change between a map of the max fixed wireless speeds and a map of the number of fixed wireless providers using the buttons at the bottom of the map.
Fixed wireless internet reaches homes by radio signal, often from a tower or cell network to a receiver in subscribers' homes. Performance varies widely with signal conditions and can be altered by factors like weather. Speeds range wildly with 25 Mbps to 1,000+ Mbps being common. A clear line of sight to the tower helps with performance.
Fixed wireless is growing quickly, driven by 5G home internet services from major cell carriers. In many cases, it's a viable, and often cheaper, alternative to wired service.
Availability is reported at the level of hexagons rather than addresses. Not every address is necessarily serviced within a hexagon where a provider reports availability.
Fixed Wireless availability data comes primarily from the FCC's Broadband Data Collection program, representing ISPs' availability as of December 2025 (published May 2026, with FCC revisions through July 2026).
