Coverage Critic & Broadband Map

General Manager

  • Full time
  • Remote · US

Coverage Critic LLC is looking to hire a general manager to handle the daily operation and ongoing evolution of Broadband Map and the company's other projects (e.g., CoverageCritic.com, the Coverage mobile apps, and the Broadband Map API). The role has a broad scope but can be shaped to the skills and interests of a particular candidate.

What you might work on

Requirements

There are no strictly required qualifications for this role. Experience building or running something, knowledge of telecom, marketing skill, or an accounting background could be helpful. Comfort with code or data is a plus and could lead to a version of this role with a heavier focus on technical parts of product development.

AI tooling

Experience using AI productively is a huge plus, and this role will provide ample opportunities for further building these skills. Given its size, Coverage Critic can move quickly in building and testing new systems without getting bogged down maintaining legacy systems and processes.

Working together

You'd work closely with me, Chris, the founder of Coverage Critic. Initially, we'd collaborate as you learn the business and take responsibility for parts of it. Ideally, you'll end up with substantial freedom to set priorities and make decisions. We'd work out the pace and division of responsibilities as we go.

Pay and location

For someone ready to take on substantial responsibility, I'm anticipating a $100,000–$130,000 annual salary before benefits.

Alternative setups may be possible for an especially strong fit. I'm also open to considering promising, early-career applicants for a modified initial role.

This is a full-time, remote position in the US. I'm based in the Denver area, so being nearby is a plus but not a requirement.

Interested?

Email [email protected] with the subject General Manager. Tell me a little about yourself and share an example of something you've created. Treat this as open-ended: you could share a software product, a blog post you wrote, or tell me about a project you're proud of.

A resume or a link to a LinkedIn profile is welcome. If you've done anything interesting with AI tools or agents, I'd love to hear about that too.

A short email is plenty as a starting point. Likely next steps would be a conversation and, in the event of a promising fit, a paid work trial.

Best,
Chris
