Coverage Comparison Tool

Compare any two carriers' native (non-roaming) coverage throughout the United States. Use the dropdowns at the top of the map to pick which networks to compare, and customize colors with the color pickers.

Map Usage

Technical Notes

  • MVNOs share host network data: MVNOs (like Mint Mobile, Visible, Cricket) use the same towers as their host network. Comparing two carriers on the same underlying network will show identical coverage.
  • Metrics with high zoom: Zoom in for the most detailed picture. At the highest zoom levels (smallest hexagons), the Winner and Difference views show signal strength comparisons.
  • Metrics with low zoom: When zoomed out (larger hexagons), comparisons are generally based on coverage percentage within each hex.

Data Sourcing

Cell coverage data comes primarily from the May 2026 release of the FCC's Broadband Data Collection program (representing networks as of December 2025), supplemented with real-world measurements from large crowdsourcing projects.
