Metronet vs Verizon Internet Availability

The map compares where Metronet and Verizon report fixed broadband availability across the United States.

Map Capabilities

Use the Availability View to see overlapping service areas, areas covered by Metronet only, and areas covered by Verizon only.
Use the Speed View to compare the fastest speeds reported by Metronet vs. Verizon.
Use the technology dropdown to isolate a single technology, such as fiber.
Select a specific hexagon for more information or to open the full provider list for an area.
Open the settings menu to switch between residential and business availability.

Map Scale

Zoom out to compare Metronet and Verizon internet availability and speeds at the national level. However, the map works best when zoomed in, exploring their service areas and speeds in specific regions.

The availability or speed of service at a single address can dictate the color of the hexagon the address falls within. Accordingly, national-scale views with large hexagons will smooth over local variations in internet availability and speeds.

Data Notes

Broadband Map's internet availability and speed comparisons rely primarily on FCC Broadband Data Collection data reflecting provider-reported availability as of December 2025 (published May 2026, with FCC revisions through July 2026). Availability and speeds are aggregated at the hexagon level. A provider may not service every address in a serviced hex.
